Our Story
In 2016, Adriatik Sheko, a veteran driver with a lifetime of experiences on the road, decided it was time to turn his dream into reality. After years of navigating highways across the country, Adriatik wanted to create something meaningful—a trucking company founded by a driver, for drivers. So, in the heart of Dearborn, Michigan, Universal Transport II was born.
From the very beginning, Adriatik’s vision was clear. He wanted to build a company that echoed the values and experiences of those who live life on the road. With a small team and a lot of determination, Universal Transport II quickly established itself as a reliable and dedicated presence in the trucking industry. The early days were challenging, but the commitment to providing exceptional service and fostering strong relationships with clients kept the wheels turning.
By 2021, the company had outgrown its original home and moved operations to Romulus, Michigan. This move was more than just a change of address; it marked a significant milestone in the company’s growth. With an expanded terminal and increased capacity, Universal Transport II was better equipped to serve its clients and partners. The move to Romulus was a pivotal moment, setting the stage for the company’s continued success and expansion.
In 2024, Universal Transport II took another major step forward by opening its own maintenance shop. This addition came at the perfect time, allowing the company to ensure that every aspect of its operations met the highest standards of quality and reliability. The new maintenance facility not only improved efficiency but also underscored the company’s commitment to excellence.
Today, Universal Transport II stands tall with a fleet of 173 experienced drivers, 158 tractors, and 335 trailers. We serve the Midwest and reach across the nation, delivering excellence with every load we transport. Our operations are driven by a deep commitment to three core principles: timeliness, safety, and security.
